What This Blog’s About

You might be wondering what it is I do with this blog. The best answer I can give you is that I do a lot of things with my writing. Sometimes, it looks like a traditional video game review, and other times, it’s closer to an analytic essay. There are even those times when I don’t know what I’m writing. If there’s a uniting theme here, it’s that I try to critically engage with whatever I’m writing about. As for what I cover, I focus largely on older, more obscure Japanese video games. I try not to limit myself, though.

Great blog! It’s funny, because we seem to have quite a bit in common, both in terms of the games we like to write about and the way we go about doing it. That’s not saying my writing is as good as yours by the way, because, well, it’s not! 😛 Still just so you know, you have a new follower and I’m looking forward to reading more from you. I appreciate how your criticism of games is well thought out, analytic and constructive. That’s very different from the usual kneejerk-y stuff you come across online and it’s the reason why I’ll be coming back. I’m not familiar with many of the Japan-only games you’ve written about on here so far but I’m always interested to learn about obscure titles worth a look (especially if they’re import-friendly), and I’m a Sega Saturn fan, so very much appreciate your post on PuLiRuLa. Keep up the good work!
